Notion Business in 2026 — Notion AI, Agents & Enterprise Search Explained

What you get on Notion Business

Notion Business is the $20/user/month plan that bundles every AI feature into the workspace. Specifically:

  • Notion Agent — autonomous multi-step task execution on your workspace data
  • AI Meeting Notes — auto-transcription and summarisation of calls
  • Enterprise Search — search across Notion, Slack, Google Drive, and more in one query
  • Multi-model AI — pick between Claude, GPT, and Gemini per task
  • Custom Agents — build your own task-specific agents (credit-based)
  • Workers — Notion's new code platform for custom backend logic in a secure sandbox
  • Private team spaces — workspaces hidden from other team spaces
  • 90-day page history — vs 30 days on Plus
  • SAML SSO
  • Bulk PDF export

Notion Agent — what it actually does

Notion Agent runs autonomously inside your workspace for up to 20 minutes per task. It can read pages, update databases, draft summaries, create new pages, link items — all using your existing Notion data as context.

Real tasks teams use it for:

  • "Read the last week of standup notes, group action items by owner, and update each person's project page with their items."
  • "Look through Q2 product feedback, cluster into themes, and create a new database with one row per theme including sample quotes and frequency."
  • "Read the meeting transcript from today's planning call and update the project roadmap with the decisions made."
  • "Summarise the customer support tickets from last month and flag patterns I should know about."

Agent works for up to 20 minutes per task and reports back when done. You approve or correct the changes.

AI Meeting Notes — set it once, never touch it again

Connect Notion to your Zoom or Google Meet. AI Meeting Notes joins your calls (or you upload a recording), transcribes them, surfaces decisions and action items, and creates a Notion page automatically. Action items can auto-link to the right people via your workspace member list.

Best setup: create a Notion database called "Meeting Notes" and route every meeting page there. Then point an Agent at it to roll up weekly summaries by project.

Enterprise Search — the unsung hero

Notion AI Connectors let you index Slack messages, Google Drive files, Linear tickets, Jira issues, and a few dozen other tools. Enterprise Search runs a single semantic query across all of them.

The mental upgrade: you stop trying to remember where something was discussed (Slack? Doc? PR comment?). You just ask "what did we decide about X" and Notion answers from all sources at once, with citations.

Workers — the developer platform you didn't know Notion had

Released in May 2026, Workers lets you write JavaScript code that runs in a secure Notion-managed sandbox. You can:

  • Build custom Agents with your own logic and tools
  • Wire up internal APIs without standing up a separate server
  • Pull data from anywhere and push it into Notion pages
  • Expose your code as a tool that other Agents can call

Workers uses the same credit system as Custom Agents, but Notion is making it free through August 2026 to drive adoption — a good time to experiment.

How to set up Notion AI for a team

  1. Settings → Features → Notion AI → toggle On. Enables reactive AI features (drafting, summarisation, translation, Q&A) for every member.
  2. Configure who can build agents. Settings → Features → Notion AI → Agents. Choose Workspace owners only (centralised) or Owners + editors (distributed automation).
  3. Connect data sources. Settings → Connections → add Slack, Google Drive, GitHub, Linear, etc. This populates Enterprise Search.
  4. Set up Meeting Notes. Settings → AI Meeting Notes → connect Zoom/Meet and pick a default destination database.
  5. Build one starter Agent. Try "Weekly project digest" first — a low-stakes test that pays dividends fast.

When Notion Business is worth it

  • Team of 3+ where 2+ people would use Notion AI heavily
  • Heavy meeting culture — AI Meeting Notes alone justifies it
  • You already have data across Slack + Drive + Notion and waste time searching all three
  • You want SAML SSO for compliance reasons

When Plus is enough

  • You don't use Notion AI
  • You're a team of 2 or solo
  • You don't need 90-day history
  • You're price-sensitive and the $10 vs $20 difference matters

We sell Notion Business 12-month accounts on the live catalog — search for "Notion".
